Van Niekerk clocked 6.60 sec to win the 60m over a distance we are not accustomed to see him competing in. The 60m was a build up to the 150m which he was scheduled to run in a few hours later but due to heavy storms in Potchestroom, the meeting was eventually cancelled after a lengthy wait.
